The Ballad of The Dragonherders

If Dreams are like Dragons, then let them take flight.
Let them roar and breathe fire that lights up the night.
If Dreams are like Dragons with pure hearts of  gold,
then they garner their power from legends of old.
With broad, leathery wings that stir up their own winds,
move mighty mountains, and make Kings out of men.
If Dreams are like Dragons, bourne of mystery and faith,
creeping round in the shadows, like nightshades and wraiths,
then what of the daydreams that begin at dawn’s light,
as night-dreams are fading from memories sight.
Is its energy lessened with eyes open wide,
or its power the greatest when perceptions collide?
For Dreams are like Dragons, though to a brave few at best,
and scarcely more than smoke and mirrors to the rest.
But for the Dreams that take flight on their grand wings of leather,
there’s some bold Dragonherders to bring them together.
